 What is a Language

             Language, a system of conventional spoken, manual (signed), or written symbols by means of which human beings, as members of a social group and participants in its culture, express themselves.

                      When speaking of language as a general concept, definitions can be used which stress different aspects of the phenomenon.[ anguage is important in every aspect of our lives because it allows people to communicate in a manner that enables the sharing of common ideas. Denotative definitions are the agreed-upon meanings of words that are often found in dictionaries, whereas connotative definitions involve individual perceptions of words.



Languages in INDIA


                      There are nearly 19,500 languages or dialects are spoken in India as mother tongues, according to the latest analysis.There are 22 major languages in India, written in 13 different scripts, with over 720 dialects. The official Indian languages are Hindi (with approximately 420 million speakers) and English, which is also widely spoken.
